Atlanta beat St. Louis on the strength of starter Curt Stevens's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-3. Stevens, now 3-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 11, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. The loss puts St. Louis at 16-17.
