Mercado Big Deal in Wichita State University: Hits for Cycle Friday, October 5th , 2046 Juan Mercado was at the front of a Shockers hit parade today at Ray Fisher Stadium. The third baseman finished 4-for-5 and hit for the cycle as Wichita State University triumphed 11-0 over the University of Michigan Wolverines. "Juan was putting on a real clinic out there," Wichita State University manager Jerry Davis said following the game. Mercado finished the game with 5 RBI and had 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run. Juan Mercado hit a two-run home run off Kenbede Sellimi in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, tripled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 9th. Presently Mercado is batting .234 and has collected 6 home runs, 18 RBIs, .268 OBP and scored 16 runs. |
