Del Sordo Fashions Shutout Against Tacoma Saturday, July 14th , 2046 It wasn't easy but the Pawtucket Red Sox made it look that way. Starter Eric Del Sordo shut out the Tacoma Rainiers despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Pawtucket Red Sox cruised to victory, 5-0. Del Sordo allowed only 6 hits and rang up 4 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." In 17 starts this season, Del Sordo has recorded 7 wins and absorbed 4 losses. He has pitched 112 innings, allowed 71 hits, struck out 92 and has a 2.01 ERA. |
