					| The Kansas City Royals picked up a win at Kauffman Stadium, knocking off the Minnesota Twins, 4-2. Starting pitcher Chris Irvin played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Irvin, now 7-13. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. John Hall converted his 3rd save in 8 tries. 
 Mike Jaquez swatted a 2-run  home run for Kansas City in the bottom of the first. The designated hitter went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and batted in 2.
 
 "I thought we played a nice game," Jaquez told the Kansas City Chronicle. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
