The Houston Astros and Texas Rangers completed their game despite the rain.
The Houston Astros downed the Texas Rangers, 6-4, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Matt Thompson led the way, going 3-for-4 for Houston. Houston starter Mat Pear was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 6-13.
Thompson had a timely hit for Houston in the top of the sixth. With Texas trailing 2-0, he turned a 2-1 curveball into a bases-clearing double. It was his 24th double of the season, making it 3-2, Houston.
"What we get, we earn," Thompson told the Houston Gazette.
Houston, with the win, climbs to 55-103.
