					| 5-3 Loss Deepens Cincinnati Funk |
					| The San Diego Padres picked up a win at Great American Ball Park, knocking off the Cincinnati Reds, 5-3. Starting pitcher Adam Thompson was a big reason why. Thompson picked up the win for San Diego, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 11-9. Raul Almonte was called on to finish, recording his 10th save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Chiel Palstermans? The San Diego shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Padres on top, 1-0. For the game, Palstermans had 2 doubles and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"I'm proud to wear a San Diego jersey," Palstermans told the San Diego Times. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"

The National League West Division-leading Padres are 103-52.
