					| Vargas Helps Cubs Win, 6-2, with Pair of Homers |
					| Chicago first baseman Efrain Vargas had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Washington Nationals, 6-2. Chicago is now 76-66, Washington 59-84.
Chicago used a well-timed hit by Rich Thurman to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cubs ahead, 5-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Vargas called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
