Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Washington Nationals got the win.

The Washington Nationals did just enough to secure a victory over the Cincinnati Reds, 4-3, at Nationals Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Brian Ramirez. The winning pitcher was Ramirez, now 7-14. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 7.

With two out in the bottom of the fourth, Danny Gerardo barreled up a splitter from Eddie Grape. The result was a 3-run home run, putting the Nationals in front, 4-0.

"Brian was able to execute his pitches," said Washington manager Mike Shore. "Simple as that."

Washington has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
