					| Mets Sneak Past Nationals, 5-4 |
					| Fans who congregated at Nationals Park were treated to extra-inning drama.
The New York Mets beat the Washington Nationals, 5-4, in part because of catcher Harry Hoop. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Washington has now lost 5 consecutive games.

Hoop had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 2-2 fastball from Keith Pratt, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Mets a 5-4 lead. It was the 23rd home run of the year for Hoop.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Hoop, "and then get after it again."
