					| The Oakland Athletics defeated the California Angels, 8-7, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim today. Leading the charge for Oakland was center fielder Philip Jansen. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. At 57-69, the Athletics are currently third in the American League West Division. 
 Jansen had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-2 fastball from Nick Madrid, he banged a solo  home run to left, giving the Athletics a 8-7 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Jansen.
 
 "One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Jansen told the Oakland Citizen.
