					| Cincinnati and Kansas City duked it out and the Reds came out victorious. 
 Cincinnati starter Eddie Grape had a strong outing against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. In 5.2 innings, Grape surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and  walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Justin Ambrose was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.
 
 The Reds got a big hit from shortstop Saulo Maina. In the top of the fifth, Maina pounded a solo  home run to left-center. His 28th home run of the season put the Reds ahead, 3-1.
 
 "Winning never gets dull," said Grape.
 
 The second-place Royals have lost 4 straight games.
