					| Cubs, Kalman Pin Bad Loss on Nationals |
					| Chicago designated hitter Josh Kalman contributed to his team's 10-1 win over the Washington Nationals. Kalman, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in hits with 146, went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cubs. The slumping Nationals have dropped 6 in a row.
Kalman contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Chicago in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Kalman took a forkball from Brian Ramirez and stroked the home run to center. His 27th home run of the season allowed the Cubs to leap in front, 3-1.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Kalman.
