The Miami Marlins picked up a win at Citi Field, taking down the New York Mets, 5-2. Starting pitcher John Bialon was a big reason why. John Dinsmore earned his 16th save in 22 chances. The Marlins raised their record to 54-58.

The Mets had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Marlins going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Jimmy Groseclose came to the plate. Groseclose hit a 2-run home run on a 2-2 fastball from New York hurler Ron Hawkins. It was Groseclose's 14th home run of the year.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Groseclose told the Miami Daily.
