					| The Chicago Cubs got a stellar performance from pitcher Unkei Wakamatsu, who handcuffed the Cincinnati offense en route to a win, 6-1, at Wrigley Field. Wakamatsu picked up the win for Chicago, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 11-4. Chicago has now won 3 straight, while the Reds have lost 3 in a row. 
 Kevin Norton, who finished 2nd in the NL in runs with 123 in 2042, aided the Chicago cause with a run-scoring  walk in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder drew 1 walk.
 
 "That's a solid team effort right there," said Norton. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
