					| The first-place Pittsburgh Pirates picked up another win. 
 The Pittsburgh Pirates topped the Washington Nationals, 5-3, in National League action at PNC Park. The standout performance belonged to Pittsburgh pitcher and Omaha, Nebraska, native Ian Toney. Jeremy Kennie notched his 30th save in 33 chances.
 
 Steve Jordan, who finished 4th in the NL in home runs with 40 last year, helped out the Pittsburgh cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring  ground out. For the game, the left fielder drew 2 walk.
 
 "I like our moxie," said Pirates manager Kevin Giles.
 
 The Pirates lead the National League Central Division by 7 games.
