					| It's Over! Pittsburgh Defeats Montreal |
					| The Pittsburgh Pirates ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Montreal Expos 3-2 to win the World Series.
Pittsburgh won the series 4-2, capturing the title for the 6th time.

"We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Pittsburgh manager Kevin Giles. "It's a great feeling."

The champs finished the regular season 102-60 and claimed first place in the National League Central Division.

In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and first baseman Andrew Robinson said the Pirates have "great fans and they deserve this."

"I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
