Torraville Blasts Rangers, Yankees Take Game 1, 8-7
With center fielder Evan Torraville leading the charge, the New York Yankees got a road win over the Texas Rangers, 8-7, in Game 1 of the Wildcard Series today. Torraville was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5 at Globe Life Park in Arlington to help New York take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series.

The game turned with two out in the top of the seventh when Torraville, who finished 3rd in the AL in home runs with 49 last year, hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Yankees into the lead, 8-4.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Torraville, "but we got it done."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Globe Life Park in Arlington in Arlington.
