					| Yankees Sneak By Mariners, 4-3 |
					| The New York Yankees took Seattle pitcher Bas Kooy's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Safeco Field. The final score had New York getting past the Mariners, 4-3. Kooy went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 2. The winner was New York reliever Chris McCoy, now 2-2. The loser was David Sly. Joel Pacheco recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 21 for 22.
The outcome might have been different for New York, had it not been for Jason Peck, the four-time All-Star . Peck stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put New York up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said New York manager Vince Deyzel.

New York now has a record of 46-34 with the win.
