					| Reds Sneak Past Cardinals, 6-5 |
					| St. Louis third baseman Tom Butterbaugh had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Butterbaugh went 2 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as Cincinnati beat the Cardinals, 6-5. The win gives Cincinnati a season record of 40-37.
The result might have been different for Cincinnati, had it not been for Dave Barefoot, the former first round draft pick . Barefoot stroked a run-scoring walk in the top of the 13th inning to put Cincinnati up, 6-5. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Barefoot after the game.
