					| Nationals Stumble, Lose to Mets |
					| The Washington Nationals got a sterling performance from pitcher Julio Pizano, but the New York Mets still prevailed, 8-4. Pizano threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. New York raised its record to 40-38 with the win.
It could have been a different outcome for New York, had it not been for Kevin Bellman, the fan favorite . Bellman contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put New York up, 3-1.

"We came out aggressive," said Mets manager Al S. "We came out swinging the bats."
