					| The home crowd had a good time watching the Boston Red Sox and Washington Nationals get after it. 
 Washington pitcher Julio Pizano did his part in helping his team beat the Boston Red Sox, 5-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Pizano got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 2 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Pizano allowed 1 run. Keith Pratt converted his 3rd save in 4 tries.
 
 Masashi Yukizawa  chipped in for  Washington with a 2-run  home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
 
 "It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Washington manager Mike Shore. "It's usually not just one thing."
 
 The 4th-place Nationals sport a record of 31-40.
