Super Swinger -- Edmiston Slams 5 Hits
It was high-fives all around for Jerry Edmiston at Suplizio Field today.

He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Miami (APP) Marlins. Edmiston smashed 5 hits in 7 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 38-0 win.

"Jerry was hitting everything," said Rockies manager Drew Mendoza. "It really was a special game for him."

In the opposing dugout, Marlins manager Ryan Butler told BNN beat writers that Edmiston "ambushed" the club.

"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Edmiston oversleeps next time."

Jerry Edmiston hit a three-run double in the 2nd, was hit by a pitch in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Cesar Jimenez in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

This year Edmiston is batting .440 with 70 hits, 21 home runs, 87 RBIs, 16 walks, .505 OBP and has scored 64 runs.
