		| Wangondu Sizzles -- Smokes Marlins for 5 Hits |
		| Fans at American Legion Field got to see not only a home-team victory today, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season.
The Danville Braves outplayed the Miami (APP) Marlins en route to a 24-3 win, but the standout was center fielder Gebre-Giorgios Wangondu. Wangondu netted 5 hits in 6 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line.

"Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Marlins manager Ryan Butler said in postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too."

Gebre-Giorgios Wangondu singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and doubled in the 8th.

This year Wangondu is batting .324 with 34 hits and 1 home run. He has scored 27 times and has batted in 17 runs.
