Hayashi Collects Cycle
Yojiro Hayashi was jubilant as the Rome Braves left the field with a 28-0 win over the Brooklyn Cyclones today. He had every right to be.

The 22-year-old center fielder hit for the cycle at State Mutual Stadium, had a 4-for-5 game and chalked up 7 runs batted in and 5 runs to boot.

"It's too bad I can't do that every day," Hayashi said with a smile to reporters after the game. "It would do wonders for my batting average."

Rome manager James Zamarripa was "proud" of the center fielder's feat, but was not expecting it to happen.

"Cycles are tough because triples are tough," the skipper said. "As soon as the ball left the bat on that triple, guys were jumping off the bench for him. Honestly, I wasn't sure he was going to be able to leg it out."

Yojiro Hayashi hit an RBI triple in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Marvin Merino in the 5th and walked in the 6th.

Currently Hayashi has 10 home runs and a .321 batting average.
