					| Cardinals Deal Mets 7-6 Loss |
					| The St. Louis Cardinals did just enough to sneak past the New York Mets, 7-6, at Citi Field. St. Louis first baseman Eric Chotkowski, in particular, had a standout performance. Danny Romero was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 17 save opportunities. The Cardinals' win now puts them at 29-36.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Pavpv Ivanushkin came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing New York pitcher Ben Dicks, he hit a 0-1 splitter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting St. Louis on top, 7-6.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Chotkowski.
