					| Chicago starter Xenophon Valvis pitched well against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-3. Valvis picked up the win for Chicago, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 10-0. Zach Ault converted his 13th save in 13 tries. 
 Junzo Kato, the three-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Kato contributed a run-scoring  walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Chicago up, 5-2.
 
 "We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Valvis said.
 
 Chicago, at 40-20, is 12½ games up in the American League Central Division.
