					| Padres Lose By a Run at Chicago, 5-4 |
					| The Chicago Cubs did just enough to secure a victory over the San Diego Padres, 5-4, at Wrigley Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Chris Ray. With the win, Chicago upped its record to 27-24.
Tim Hone hit a 2-run double off Randolph Rayner in the bottom of the second, which put the Cubs in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Hone had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Chicago manager Mergatroid Skittle.
