Greensboro left fielder Angelo Estrella had a fantastic day at the plate at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark today, knocking out 5 hits and pacing his club to a 6-3 victory.
"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Estrella said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Cougars. "No offense meant to Kane County, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid park, it was Fifth Third Bank Ballpark."
After the game, his manager elaborated on the left fielder's improvements, saying Estrella spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Estrella said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Angelo Estrella doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
This season Estrella is batting .297 with 129 hits, 6 home runs, 65 RBIs, .370 OBP and has scored 54 runs.
