					| Hammertime Lifts Mariners to 5-4 Win |
					| Both teams had their chances, but the Seattle Mariners eventually prevailed.
The Seattle Mariners topped the San Diego Padres by the score of 5-4, with the largest share of the credit going to third baseman Jimmy Hammertime. Hammertime was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Mariners. Lance Crumpton recorded the save for Seattle, his 3rd of the season.

In the bottom of the sixth, Seattle designated hitter Bobby Larson put his team on top. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit his 18th double of the year. San Diego pitcher Jason Breeden served it up. Just like that, the Mariners were ahead, 5-4.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," San Diego manager Robert Yoka said following the tough loss.

Seattle now has a record of 28-22 with the win.
