Casey in Command, No-Hits Power
Tony Casey relied on excellent pitch selection and pinpoint control to hold West Virginia hitless in a 3-0 win at Dozer Park today.

"Nobody goes out to pitch a no-hitter," he said later. "We just go out and try to get a win. A 10-9 win is better than a 1-0 loss. My pitching buddies might not be too happy giving up nine runs but a win is a win. The key to it today was I mixed my pitches well. I kept the Power off balance and guessing the whole game."

The 21-year-old starter rung up 11 strikeouts and 1 walk in whipping the Power.

"When a guy is throwing strikes the way he was and is locating well, it is going to be a long day for any club," West Virginia skipper Cruz Gomez said.

Over the season Casey has thrown 29.1 innings and dished out 26 strikeouts with a 2-1 mark and a 1.53 ERA.
