Gilliam Tags Cougars for 5 Hits
All game long, Hartford's Steve Gilliam was rattling the walls at New Britain Stadium and banging out base hits against the Kane County Cougars. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Yard Goats had a 23-3 victory.

Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 21-year-old first baseman said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."

Steve Gilliam grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and walked in the 8th.

Gilliam is currently batting .429 with 1 home run and 6 RBIs.
