Hit Parade: Cluster Gets Cycle
Tuesday, August 8th , 2045
At Hammons Field today, Dave Cluster led Springfield to a 21-2 victory over the Tennessee Smokies by hitting for the cycle, one of baseball's more difficult feats.
"Usually the triple is the hardest one to get, but I was most worried about the homer today because the ball wasn't carrying," Cluster said later. "When I took it deep, I was expecting the ball to die on the warning track, so it was sweet seeing the ump give me the signal to circle the bases."
In addition to going 5-for-5, Cluster chalked up 6 runs batted in and scored 4 runs in an exceptional performance.
Dave Cluster tripled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Alvaro Andrade in the 6th.
Cluster currently has a .360 batting average with 62 hits, 4 homers, 36 RBIs, 31 runs scored and a .406 OBP.
