Indians End Allen's Streak Monday, July 31st , 2045 Tyler Allen, center fielder for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Indianapolis Indians today. Not only did the Indians break his 20-game hitting streak, they also beat Lehigh Valley by the score of 5-0. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Allen said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." Allen is swinging at a .324 pace on the year with 12 home runs, 43 RBIs and 66 runs scored. He has played in 89 games. |
