Allen's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Sunday, July 30th , 2045 With 1 hit at Victory Field today, Tyler Allen added another game to his hitting streak -- the Lehigh Valley center fielder has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the IronPigs today, as they fell, 5-0, to the Indianapolis Indians. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Indianapolis manager Thomas Dillard said later. "I'll let him get 3 hits in 3 at-bats if it means we get a win." Tyler Allen grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, walked in the 6th and singled in the 8th. In 88 games this season Allen has compiled a .327 batting average with 119 hits and 12 home runs. He has also scored 66 times and knocked in 43 runs. |
