Americus Sweeps into the Quarter-Finals Thursday, October 20th , 2044 The Americus Braves outclassed the Madison Brewers in all facets of the game throughout the WL Round 1. The end result was a Americus series sweep to advance to the Quarter-Finals, capped off by a 14-8 win in the final game. "We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said catcher Josh McCormick, who hit .588 in the series. McCormick's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .632 on-base percentage and had 7 home runs, drove in 13 RBI and scored 10 runs. The Quarter-Finals matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
