Bailes Whips Winnipeg, 11-0 Tuesday, October 4th , 2044 It wasn't easy but Brian Bailes made it look that way. Bailes silenced the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 11-0, in a London Majors triumph at Labatt Park today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Bailes said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 1 walk and 4 hits. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." To date this season Bailes sports a 14-6 mark with a 2.91 ERA in 27 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .186 batting average and has 263 strikeouts in 182.2 innings. |
