					| | Washington Takes League Championship Series in Deciding Game Wednesday, October 26th , 2044
The League Championship Series went the distance before it all was said and done.

The Washington Nationals and the New York Mets went at it tooth-and-nail and when it was over at Nationals Park, the winner was the Nationals.

They put away New York 7-4 to cinch the series and won the right to move onto the World Series.

For his fine play, even in a losing effort, New York third baseman Melchor Sovrivilla was given the series Most Valuable Player Award. He hit .600, scored 5 runs and batted in 6 to win the honor.

"It's nice that someone noticed my numbers, but I'd trade it in a heartbeat for a win," he said.

The Washington Nationals will play against the Texas Rangers in the next round. Texas won their series against the Chicago White Sox 4 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
