Geter Bombs 3 HR Against Kansas City Saturday, September 17th , 2044 Merrick Geter went on an explosive hitting spree against the Kansas City Royals at Progressive Field today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Cleveland Indians to the 12-4 win. The third baseman finished 5-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 8 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Geter said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Kansas City skipper Chris Stephan said Geter was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Merrick Geter hit a two-run home run off Jimmy Silveira IV in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ryan Bushey in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Ryan Bushey in the 8th. Currently Geter has 19 home runs and a .276 batting average. |
