Matera No-Hits Oakland (WIN) Saturday, November 26th , 2044 Pat Matera made easy work of the Oakland (WIN) Athletics at Papago Park Sports Facility earlier today, tossing a no-hitter for the New York (WIN) Yankees. In a superlative outing, he registered 9 strikeouts and allowed 2 walks, leading the Yankees as they defeated the Athletics, 9-1. "I really didn't have my best stuff today," he admitted after the game. "There's a lot of luck involved in throwing a no-hitter. But some days it's better to be lucky than good." Either way, Matera earned himself a place in the history books. |
