American League Names Pastore Best Player Sunday, December 18th , 2044 Ryan Pastore took Appalachian League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 26. For his spectacular campaign, the Texas (APP) Rangers star has been named the 2044 American League Most Valuable Player Award recipient. "To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the first baseman. On the season he compiled a .405 batting average to go with a .466 on-base percentage. The native of Manalapan Township, New Jersey also added 31 doubles, 1 triple, 108 home runs, 252 RBIs and 192 runs scored. He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 30. Wil Urban of the Princeton Rays finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Jack Andrews of the Bluefield Blue Jays finished third.
