Blue Jays Dominate, Sweep Wildcards Series Monday, October 31st , 2044 The Bluefield Blue Jays proved to be too much to handle for the Oakland (APP) Athletics in the Wildcards Series, and a sweep was the end result. Bluefield punched its ticket to the Division Series on the strength of a 8-7 win in the deciding game, which wrapped up the series 4-0. Bluefield third baseman Jack Andrews, named series MVP, was instrumental in the sweep, as he mashed Oakland (APP) pitching to the tune of a .474 average, with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 5 home runs, drove in 12 RBI and scored 7 runs. The Division Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wildcards Series finishes. |
