Pirates Chill Williams's Hot Streak Thursday, October 6th , 2044 The Bristol Pirates pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Mike Williams hitless in 5 at-bats during the club's 8-5 victory over the Helena Brewers at Devault Memorial Stadium. The disappointing performance ended a 20-game hitting streak for the center fielder. "I'm a little down right now," Williams said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." Currently Williams has 53 home runs and a .389 batting average. |
