Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Saturday, September 24th , 2044 If there wasn't a history between Hector Fernandez of Tri-City and Jae-young Jhang of Rome, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 5 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Fernandez said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." Fernandez is hitting .307 so far this season with 84 RBIs and 86 runs scored. He has 150 hits including 7 home runs, 39 walks and .376 OBP. This year Jhang has fanned 46 in 63.2 innings and collected a 3-3 record with a 5.65 ERA. |
