Romero Nabs NL #1 Pitcher Award Saturday, October 1st , 2044 There's something about a young rookie winning the National League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Danny Romero, a 22-year-old starter for the Springfield Cardinals. In September, he topped off the month with a 4-0 mark and 0.84 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 32.1 innings, fanned 28 and held opposing teams to a .150 average. This season Romero has crafted a 16-6 mark with a 3.06 ERA in 185 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .255 against him and he has 141 strikeouts. |
