Columbia Stops Munoz's Hit Streak Monday, August 22nd , 2044 Colorado (EL) Rockies second baseman Jon Munoz finally met his Waterloo. A 23-game hitting spree is now history after Munoz was unable to make anything happen in 3 at-bats today against the Columbia Fireflies. Fortunately for Munoz and the Rockies, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game 2-1. "We're a true team here," he said. "For 23 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day." This season Munoz has 7 home runs and a .364 batting average. |
