Tacoma Hopeless Against Becerra Sunday, July 10th , 2044 In an outstanding mound performance, Norfolk Tides starter Juan Becerra fired a complete-game shutout against the Tacoma Rainiers at Cheney Stadium today. Becerra was the key to the Tides's 6-0 win. The 33-year-old left-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 5 hits and no walks he allowed. "5 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." Checking out his stats for the year, Becerra has racked up 6 wins and 7 losses in 16 starts, 4.29 ERA and struck out 76 batters in 92.1 innings. |
