Concha Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
Rick Concha put on a hitting clinic today as the Hickory Crawdads dumped the Charleston RiverDogs 14-2 at L.P. Frans Stadium.

The Hickory shortstop made Charleston defenders earn their pay, lashing Charleston pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Concha said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Rick Concha hit a solo-shot off Colin Stone in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

This year Concha has hit at a .396 pace and produced 32 RBIs, 2 home runs and scored 30 runs.
