Cubs Walk It Off for 14th Win of Season
The Chicago Cubs defeated the New York Mets, 8-7, at Wrigley Field today. Leading the charge for Chicago was catcher Terry Tuckfard. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Chicago reliever George Poirier was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Ron Hawkins took the loss. The win gives Chicago a record of 14-9.

Josh Kalman was the walk-off hero for Chicago. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cubs left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We'll try to build on that win," Tuckfard told the Chicago Observer.
