Steed Goes 5-for-6 Against University of Nebraska
Even as a kid, Kevin Steed said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Davenport Field today, Steed showed how well he learned that lesson.

The 18-year-old shortstop had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the University of Virginia Cavaliers, helping his team knock off the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers by a score of 8-7.

"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."

Kevin Steed singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a solo-shot off Yeijiro Kimura in the 11th.
