					| The New York Mets topped the Washington Nationals, 2-1, in National League action at Citi Field. The standout performance belonged to New York pitcher and Tokyo, Japan, native Enkei Wakamatsu. The winning pitcher was Wakamatsu, now 2-2. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. The Nationals fall to 7-10 and continue to sputter in the early going. 
 Making an impact for the home team was Jeff Jank. In the bottom of the third, the former first round draft pick  had a run-scoring  sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Mets.
 
 Wakamatsu said his team "played with focus."
